During your stay with the Berber people, you will have the opportunity to see how they live, cook and spend their leisure time. They are fond of singing, cooking hearty mountain meals of bread, soup and other dishes and have hand-built houses made from pise (a mixture of mud and stone). They are very friendly and welcoming and will be more than pleased to show around their homes. It is not unheard of for Berber’s live into their 90’s and it is common for Berber people to have extended families in their abodes. This trek is highly recommended for families.Should you wish to make any alterations to your adventure then do not hesitate to contact Brahim and Mohamed to discuss your options. All treks are led and supervised by qualified and experienced guides and mule handlers, drawn from the local populace.
You will meet with your team in Aguersiwal at an altitude of 1650m and trek past Matat villages and the plateau, over the Oudite pass and eventually to the Azzaden Valley where you can stay in a local house in Tizzi Oussem.
During the second day, you will visit the biggest waterfall in the Toubkal National Park, before trekking to the Ait Mizan valley, via Tizi Mzzik (2550m) which affords a wonderful view of the Atlas Mountains and Imlil, and then on to meet Brahim and Mohammed’s driver to take you back to Marrakech.
